Advent:  The Journey of Shepherds

developed by Pete Aubin & Rev. Julie Wright

For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.”  Romans 15:4

“Then I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will feed you on knowledge and understanding.”  Jeremiah 3:15

To all those who use this study:  RUMC’s focus for 2010 will be The Journey, a process of discipleship to help us grow in our spiritual walk so we serve God and people.  This Advent Study, developed by Pete Aubin and Rev. Julie Wright, takes the journey of shepherds who also shepherded people (Abraham, Moses, David) and relates a characteristic of each to significant figures in the Christmas story.  The fourth lesson discusses the shepherds of the Nativity.

Each lesson is designed to be teacher-friendly, i.e. this is how Pete and Julie develop their lessons for ease in the classroom.  Much research was done in preparing these lessons but add if you feel so inclined.
