What's Happening inside the RUMC Sanctuary Choir

The RUMC Sanctuary Choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 to 8:45 p.m. in the choir room, Building A. We participate each Sunday in the traditional worship service at 11 AM (warm-up begins at 10:30 AM).  The Sanctuary Choir also sings at several concerts and outreach events throughout the year. We are glad that you are considering joining the RUMC Sanctuary Choir. Serving the Lord through song is such fun, and at the same time, an awesome responsibility. You will be blessed as you use your gifts to worship and help others experience God.

We feel that we are family and, as such, care for one another through prayer and outreach. We welcome you into our fellowship and look forward to serving with you in this Worship Arts Ministry.

Below are some questions and answers that may help you decide whether to join the Sanctuary Choir.

Do I have to audition? No.

Is a nursery available during rehearsals? Yes, if reqested at least 48 hours in advance through the Worship Arts Office.

What activities can I look forward to?
The opportunity to participate in Wednesday rehearsals, Sunday morning worship, Fall Workshop, Christmas concerts, Patriotic concerts, social events, tours, and much more!

What are rehearsals like?
Rehearsals are a very rewarding experience for choir members. We start with a warm-up, then rehearse music for Sunday morning worship or upcoming concerts. We work hard but we laugh a lot. During each rehearsal, the choir president makes announcements, the membership care chairperson shares prayer concerns, and we end each rehearsal with a devotional. Most choir members leave with a sense of accomplishment, feeling better than when they arrived.
